Hi,
I have been ask many times "who am I" Well I am Mark A. Worley Sr. an employee from the original King Radio founded by Ed King.

I am originally from Southern Illinois and received My degree in Electronics in Kentucky.

I was originally supposed to be intervied and hired to work in Olathe, However I got a quick tour of Olathe and sent down to Paola, where I was hired in July of 1979 by Pat Violet as a Technician, And being straight out of school, and having already found an apartment in Osawatomie, it was a pretty easy decision. I worked for a year or two? and moved to the Brockway plant to learn their products and transfer them back to Paola.

I left KRC after approximately 2 1/2 years (Big Layoff) and went to work for Bloomington avionics, working on KRC products in the field. A year and a half later I was back at KRC and have been there since, When I returned after my absence I was transferred to Ottawa, Then Joined the Test Engineering Organization in 1985. I occasionally resided at the Olathe facility in the early 80's helping with engineering projects, and learning the new products.

In 2003 I was recruited by Charlie Kitterman to work for the Facilities team as a facilities planner/Operations engineer, In my tenure I learned a great many things about the plants, people and processes that are (or were) King Radio. However on Feb 12th, 2007 I was informed that I would no longer be working for the company, That my job would be outsourced to a new company (Jones Lang LaSalle). Needless to say this was a shock, I have seen countless friends and associates go the same way, but I never thought it would happen to me. I was wrong.

As of May 1, 2007 I will be working for Jones Lang LaSalle as the Chief Engineer, I will be working for Betty Miller (Jones) Also a former King employee. We will be responsible for the New Cedar Creek facility and the Wichita R&O facility. Hopefully I will have the time to continue adding items to this site.

Now, For all of the "Old Timers" I was 19 when I started at KRC. I will be 48 This year. I am happily married with three boys and four grand children.

Thanks to all who have sent pictures and provided information. I look forward to hearing from all the old King people and the new, There are a lot of memories on this site. This is just one way I can keep the memory alive.
